Ice Cream Party Birthday
I thought I would share my little man’s Ice Cream Party for his fifth birthday. Other than both of us being a bit under the weather, we had lots of fun.
To get excited for the big day, we had a ‘five scoops’ photo shoot, with the best shot used for his birthday party invitation.
At the party, guests were welcomed to enjoy the ice cream parlor party display table. Little touches included a ferris wheel towing ice cream toppings and homemade pinwheels in milk glass vases.
What’s an Ice Cream Parlor without burgers and fries, held in custom paper fry containers and burger trays. For drinks, guests sipped on root beer floats and shirley temples.
Guests polished off cookies and cream cupcakes, while the birthday boy blew out the candles on his personal cookies and cream cake (complete with a mini cake banner matching the larger birthday banner).
Of course there was lots of ice cream on site, but curious guests were treated to an ice cream making tutorial using baggies and rock salt. The homemade ice cream creations were held in custom ice cream cups, with cute little wooden spoons.
Too much ice cream in the house can be a dangerous thing…for me. So guests were encouraged to take ice cream creations home in custom ice cream containers.
Those who were worried that their ice cream would melt before they got home, were provided with custom boxes of hard ice cream candy (no melting here).
Those without a sweet tooth could grab a photo booth inspired picture of the birthday boy. A larger version was also on display (the ikea mirror that we had made a great large frame for it).
The party ended with an empty lemonade station and a jar full of money for my son’s charity of choice, Childhelp, an organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse. Thanks to all who donated and partied with us! See you next year.
