MCM Master Bedroom
Our backyard and master bedroom have been the most neglected spaces in our home. Now that my husband has put some love into the backyard, it’s time to turn my attention back to our bedroom. The inspiration is still the same, teal and gold peacock, or rather, any bird love.
Since my master bedroom inspiration post, we have added this piece of furniture, with a matching six drawer dresser on the other wall for a budget friendly $225 at a local thrift store. I absolutely love the clean space provided under the legs of most mid century modern pieces. You can achieve the same look with your existing furniture by picking up some mid century modern wood legs and feet from Classic Designs by Matthew Burak. I also love that the gold drawer pulls support my quest to bring a little luxury hotel suite into our master. A can of metallic gold spray paint from your local home improvement store is an inexpensive way to add a little luxury to your existing drawer pulls.
My other thrifty find was this $7 metal bird wall sculpture containing a sun burst design that loosely resembles fanned out peacock feathers to me. As I understand it, signed pieces from the artist that this sculpture was inspired by or aka knocked off from, Curtis Jere, can cost thousands. So I was just happy to find something that fit within my vision and budget.
Our master bedroom is a slow work in process, but it will all come together. Sure, I could go to one or two stores to complete the bedroom in one day, but what would be the fun in that? I’ll keep you posted on the progress.
