Mission: Lamp-possible
The walls and main pieces of furniture in our home are extremely neutral (just how my husband likes it). I am fine with that, but lately I have been looking to add more color to our living space. I thought that one way to add a little “non-threatening” color to the space, while also adding some lighting, would be to find a pair of table lamps with a color pop.
Lamp Mission:
1. A pair of matching table lamps
2. Large! The larger the better since we have tall ceilings and lots of empty wall space.
3. The base in a teal blues and greens pattern, with a neutral shade
4. Preferably Mid Century inspired
5. Wallet friendly, ideally under $300 for the pair. Tall order maybe?
I found this pair of lamps from Swank Lighting. They have the most amazing lamps, but with an almost $3,000 price tag, I am left searching for a more inexpensive option. Maybe even with a little more green in them.
I found these tall abstract green and blue lamps at Neiman Marcus for $195 each. Much better, but I kept the search going for something more uniquely shaped.
After weeks of searching, last week, I found these lamps at a second-hand store for $45 for the pair. They are large, made in 1964, in a teal and green pattern, very wallet friendly, and may even look nice with some of the lithography art prints that we already have. I think I’ll call this Mission: Lamp complete!
