Resist the Urge to…
Last week I wrapped up a logo, blog, and web design project (that had a quick deadline) for an amazing woman with her own medical billing company. Her main objective was to have something very clean, simple, and easy to use. While clean and easy is also my style, I sometimes have to resist the urge to “over accessorize” not only with my design clients, but in life.
THE TAKE AWAY: Showing off the frills and thrills is nice, but not if it goes against the client’s desires or takes away from your overall goal. To make your statement or point of view more clear (when cooking, styling, decorating, designing, storytelling, etc.), consider editing out one or two elements from the concept that do not add real value. Easier said than done. If you see me out wearing all of my favorite accessories at once, gracefully remind me to edit.
